HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS (and day 25)

I am starting this post with a Happy New Year greeting as I have promised myself I will blog each day as this is the year I turn 60 and thought I might document it!!!!!   Well we'll see (Sam - fingers crossed!)

Saw the new year in with Gary Barlow and a glass of champagne.  Ron was around somewhere!!!   Fireworks in London were quite spectacular.

It's lashing down with rain today and very very windy.   Tree still standing tho!

Milla and Peter came up for dinner (along with Milla's friend Dulcie.)  We had a slow roasted joint of pork.   I  had to clear my dining table of all the chrissy making stuff but it needed doing!   It was delicious.   We three girls went through a bottle of Schloer!

We gave Milla her birthday presents in a massive box which two bicycle wheels came in.   She took it all in good heart!  Her dad thought it was a bit mean!   

ADVENT:  Day 25 - A fabulous dish in the shape of a christmas tree which looks knitted.   It's gorgeous.

This was a sad day indeed - no more pressies from Tasha!    I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 25 mornings!    Still it was Christmas day and the sun was shining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Peter and Kris's for lunch where Kris's girlfriend cooked our meal.    It was delicious.   Never had poached turkey before but will be having it again that's for sure.    We didn't have sprouts this year (they were left in the fridge!).     We also had roast ham and roast beef (rarishly done!).     Went to the pub for an hour or so - like yer do.    Julia's mum and dad were supposed to be coming from Folkstone but unfortunately her mum was ill.   Mind you both the boys were coughing and spluttering all day.    They all fell asleep except me!     We did have a lovely day.

I had some fab pressies from Peter and Milla.    Two baking trays from Lakeland and a box of colouring pastes.   They were for 12 mini loaves and 12 individual tray bakes.  I was over the moon.  Thanks guys.   I'm easy pleased!

My laptop won't let me download my photo's.   A weeny bit annoyed!
Back to work tomorrow.

Days 18, 19, 20

Day 18.
Oh dear - I have lapsed again!!!!   Back at work.   Started knitting a scarf for my Crochet Buddie, Amie, today.  I did it on the bus.  It was   with some fancy wool. Gave up half way to work as I dropped a stitch.  The problem being - I hear you say.  Well the problem was there were only two stitches on the flippin' needle and the whole thing started to unravel!!!!
Still I did manage to finish it at home!  

I enjoyed it so much that I made another one for my bezzie mate, Lesley.

ADVENT present:

These lovely little Christmas pegs.   Will defo use them next year!

DAY 19:

Busy doing a mug rug and mug hug for DS2's girlfriend's dad!    It's in the form of a backgammon board.   Really struggling with the changing colours.   Still it's coming along.   Pics later!

DAY 20.

Busy day at work - billing!   So knackered I had a glass of wine.    Totally unheard of for me!   Finished off a flannel for DS2's girlfriend's mum!

I even made a little box for it to go in.   There was also a bar of soap!

Roundabout Jelly - apples found on a roundabout apparently!!!!

One thing left to say - VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MILLA - 13 TODAY!  Can't believe my granddaughter is 13! Tempus fugit and all that!!!!

She is apparently going into town with her mummy and daddy for a surprise!   I told her it was an audience with Justin Beiber and she went "URGGGGG!  I'd walk out!"     The weather is absolutely diabolical here today, the wind is very windy so I hope the surprise is indoors.  She was told to dress up!!!!

Well I think that will be all for today - just so as I don't bore you all too much.

Last showoffs for 2012!!

2012 - 10 hours to go and it will be 2013.      Let's hope I keep up with the blog.  I have made a note for myself - "BLOG MORE"!!     I have also decided (again) to finish one thing before I start another - wonder how long that will last!    
As promised yesterday here are some pics of Milla's birthday skating party.  Unfortunately they are not too good cos I used my IPod and it was getting darker so they used ultra violet lighting!    She went on to Pizza Express but Grandad and I weren't allowed to go to that.   Even her mum and dad had to sit at a different table!!!!
Milla is the young lady in the photo on her own.

We can't believe she is 12 now (going on 22)!!   

Here are the pictures of the journal that Sam sent me for Christmas.   I love it.   I think the front cover is done with tissue and some glue.    I love all the different papers used for the pages.     As you can see I have already started scribbling in it!   The little verses are what I write at the beginning of all the books in which I verbally chit chat to myself.

As a last pic for 2012 I thought you might like to see the little egg cosies I made for DS2 and his partner.   Aren't they just the cutist.     I may even make some more as there is a pattern for an aran jumper.....  He took the egg cup too.   We bought it in Devon at a Haven Holiday Camp.   We had to have his name especially piro thingied onto it because it's spelt KRISTOFER.......   I found it in a cupboard the other day and he laughed when I gave it to him.     He wouldn't let me show his name when I took the pictures.  don't know why but hey that's Kris.
Right I'm off now to sort out the folders on the lappy in readiness for 2013, so it just leaves me to say I hope all my bloggy friends in blogland have a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.    I say this because I wouldn't wish anything on my friends that I wouldn't wish on myself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Girly weekend!

Milla and I had a girly weekend. We did our nails in readiness for the theatre. Here are mine !!!

I did keep it on for a couple of hours and then toned it down a bit by taking it off !!!!! We did have a laugh. the white dots started out as little flowers but I think she got a bit "dot happy"!
I suggested she might like to "paint" some magnolias instead. I think you will agree she did a much better job!!!! I gave her a load of images I bought from ebay and gave her the copics and away she went.

The two on the pink cutting mat are for a "MUM" word book "we" made for her mum for mother's day. I forgot to photograph it !!! It was ever so good. I'll get Peter to photograph it later. I sent her some mats cut from the nesties and some flowers to put on the letters. We ran out of time!!! I also sent her some ribbon to tie on the rings.

We went to the Theatre to see Hairspray performed by the Brighton Theatre Group. It was absolutely fantastic. Linda's daughter, Katherine, was brilliant as Tracy Turnblad. In fact they were all brilliant. Course we get home at about 10.30pm and madam is "buzzing". Gone 11.00 before she finally settled down.

Well Tim's on QVC at 12.00pm tonight. Guess who'll be staying up to watch it..........

Sad day

Burn is sad - poor Stephen Gately. I got such a shock when I heard it on the radio this morning. I just feel so sorry for his partner, family and the rest of Boyzone. No doubt it will all become clear what happened.

Anyway I completely forgot to tell you yesterday what Milla said to me. She asked me if she could do something, I said no and then she moaned saying she didn't like it here with me anymore so I said "Tuff". Then she said "you're not my nanny, you're an imposter". "What makes you say that" I asked and then in the blink of an eye she said "Cos my nanny would have said something rudder than that!" Well I just wee'd myself laughing, told her that was a good one and then as I walked passed her she held up her hand and said "Hi five!". Little angel.

I think the best one she ever said was when Kris (DS2) was putting his money into his pocket and asked him for £5. Kris then tells her he doesn't have £5 and she replied "I take switch!" All this at just under 2 years old...................................

Wonder who she takes after !!!!!!!!

Think I may have had a change of heart about the blinds, but don't hold your breath cos I may change it again !!!!!! Sorted out all the stamps - just need more sheets. Note to self - ring Tanda Stamps

I'm watching X Factor at the moment - C'MON STACEY !!!!!!!!! She is adorable and LLOYD and JOE - hedging my bets a bit here eh !

Well best get on with the knitting!
