The Tabinda Lunch!!!

TABINDA - that's Tasha, Burn and Linda - cool eh!!!!      On Saturday we had our Christmas lunch (postponed from Christmas!).   It was decided to have it for my birthday instead.    Linda provided the starter.   Dips with baby tomatoes, sticks of cucumber, peppers and carrots.  They were lovely.  Opening pressie time.  Ooooh they were all fabulous.     Then it was my turn, roast pork, roast spuds, brocolli, carrots and parsnips.   If I say so myself it was as lovely as the starter.   Then it was Tasha's turn.   Chocolate Mousse!!  Delish!
Here is a pic of Linda (on the left) eating her dinner and a picture of her gift.   It is a sewing machine made from a thick wire and some hooks along the bottom.  There is a reel of gold cotton which is threaded through the heart on the left hand side down to the needle.  It's terrific.   Thank you Linda.     Tasha (on the right) with her roast and a pic of her gifts.    There is a fabulous book by Arne & Carlos of knitted dolls with complete wardrobes, a "When stuff is" diary/date book (you write in it like when you were 12!) and a packet of tissues with ""We do not gossip, we distribute vital information".   She also gave me a fridge magnet which is up in the cabin and it's tooooooo wet and tooooooo cold to go and get!!!!!  Thank you Tasha.  Lucky girl eh?
I also received this gorgeous book from Sam.  On her blog she explains that the cover is done with the Gelli Plate technique.   It's really clever.   I have to ask you, Sam, what is the paper inside?   It's great, looks like a linen type.   I shall be using this for pics of my, and my fellow crafters' work.  Or I may use it for pics and journalling our weekends away this year.  Actually that's not a bad idea!!!!  Thank you Sam.
I treated myself to a massage this morning with Ruth and have booked another two.   A three for two deal.    I feel quite vigorated....     Ruth is having a website built so I will link it in as soon as it's up and running.
Right I think that's it for the moment.
Thanks for stopping by.

It's my birthday..........

.......today and our 38th Wedding Anniversary!    I have had the day off work and chilled this morning before I went into the cabin and "spring cleaned" it!!!!   I had to give it a thorough clean out because Linda and Tash are coming over tomorrow for "Christmas lunch".    We couldn't squeeze it in before Christmas so are combining it with my birthday.        I even cleaned the windows - no wonder it's going to snow this weekend!
Milla phoned at 7.45am this morning and started singing "happy birthday".  She started off slow and then started to speed up cos she was getting bored!!!   I began to chat with her and suddenly she said "I had better go now, nanny, 'cos I am kinda in the middle of getting ready for school".  Then said "Bye"!!  You gotta love 'em, eh!
On Tuesday I baked cakes to take to work.   I started at 9.00am and finished about 4.00pm.  I was knackered!    There was carrot cake, vanilla cupcakes (with white icing made to look like a quilt, with a butterfly on top), lemon drizzle, soft centred cookies, chocolate and almond macaroons, banana and maple syrup buns and loaf.   It wasn't all calorific there was plenty of fruit and a bit of veg so it was all good.   Everything went!
I had an amazing bunch of cerise pink roses from my friend, Michele.   They are gorgeous. A fab scarf from my boss and some money from my bessie mate.
Just had a Chinese takeaway and now I'm stuffed.
Up early tomorrow to put the pork on for our lunch.    Linda is doing the starter and Tash is doing the pud.    Can't wait now.
Ron's on the PC and it's gone ever so quiet.   Just looked over and he is reading my facebook page.   Five minutes gone by and he is still reading it!   Two minutes later he tuts and then closes it down!    He is funny......
Right cuppa tea just been delivered so I will sees yer tomorrow....

It's my birthday (and anniversary!)

Evenin' all. As you can see it's my birthday today. We have been married for 35 years today too. We got married on my 21st. Seemed like a good idea at the time! I got home from work to these:
Isn't he sweet! A complete surprise - I can tell you.
My mate Freda left me a pressie and a card on 2 January (when I last saw her) and I put in the lounge and I didn't even peek at it. I opened it this morning - cos it's my birthday - did I mention this before - sorry - this is what I found:

Isn't that brill. It's by "Red Herring". Just loving the necklace. She gave me that too. I had some lovely card from my forum buddies. I had some money from my bezzy bezzy mate. Apparently I still have some goodies to come from peeps who couldn't get to me and stuff that's in the Royal Mail system. Think this birthday may last a while eh!

Right off to watch Corrie now.

Keep safe folks

MILLA'S 9 TODAY!

Here she is - all pleased with herself !!!! She and six friends are off to pizza express this evening and then back to hers for a sleepover ! God help her parents that's all I can say!
I made this card (along with six others) in the cabin yesterday. Bit blurred - sorry - but it's gone in the post now. I used a piece of metal and stamped one of my new stamps from Magenta and embossed it. I then coloured it in with me copics.
Close up of the metal piece.
Quite pleased with the result.
Just taken delivery of some distress stickles from The Glitter Pot and some more (like I need them) Sprites Flowers.
I now have t'internet in the cabin. I couldn't use me lappy toppy up there cos the wireless signal wouldn't go that far. Peter bought us a plug in connection thingy and it works a treat now. Quite speedy too. Never get any work done in there now!
Been and bought a lappy toppy mouse so Ron can use the lap top. Tried to instal a wireless one yesterday and everything went pear shaped. Had to reinstall system. Still got an ASDA one for £5, plugged it in and away we go! We have two main computers in the house and both of them had their switches go within a day of each other. He can't use the touch pad mouse cos he is a bit heavy handed.
Right off I go now, cos I have been brought a cuppa.
Have a good rest of day folks.
